The Importance Of Body Composition Awareness
It is more important than most people think to be aware of ones body composition. Knowing your body composition can tell you your risk of developing disease or other disorders. It can also serve as an indicator of a person’s fitness level. In my opinion, this is the best way to track fitness for a client who is out of shape and working on it. The reason to this is that if a person starts an exercise program and doesn’t soon see physical results on their appearance, they may get discouraged and not want to continue the program. However, if they see the results of improving health on paper and it is explained to them how they actually are improving, it may encourage them to continue exercising and maybe even increase their exercise levels.
As a personal trainer, this could be one of the most helpful tools that you can use to communicate with a client and help them understand how their body is changing on the inside, as many only desire the effect of exercise on their physical appearance. You should take an initial measurement of body composition and then take them every 6 weeks from there on to ensure often and accurate progress. You can also use this as a way of setting goals for your client. This can be done by setting goals such as how far or how fast they can run and how much they can lift and how many reps. This is how i want to start setting my personal fitness goals.
