The Importance Of Body Composition Awareness

It is more important than most people think to be aware of ones body composition. Knowing your body composition can tell you your risk of developing disease or other disorders. It can also serve as an indicator of a person’s fitness level. In my opinion, this is the best way to track fitness for a client who is out of shape and working on it. The reason to this is that if a person starts an exercise program and doesn’t soon see physical results on their appearance, they may get discouraged and not want to continue the program. However, if they see the results of improving health on paper and it is explained to them how they actually are improving, it may encourage them to continue exercising and maybe even increase their exercise levels.

As a personal trainer, this could be one of the most helpful tools that you can use to communicate with a client and help them understand how their body is changing on the inside, as many only desire the effect of exercise on their physical appearance. You should take an initial measurement of body composition and then take them every 6 weeks from there on to ensure often and accurate progress. You can also use this as a way of setting goals for your client. This can be done by setting goals such as how far or how fast they can run and how much they can lift and how many reps. This is how i want to start setting my personal fitness goals.

My Role In Promoting Strong Bones

As a future fitness professional, it is one of my responsibilities to promote healthy practices to increase bone strength along with bone density. It is important to maintain a healthy level of bone density to prevent weakness or increased likeliness of developing osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones do not receive enough calcium or vitamin D, causing bone density to decrease. It is an important task to inform the general public or just the people you know of the importance of knowing their bone health and encourage those people to perform resistance style exercises to improve their bone strength.

In the case in which a client asks any questions about osteoporosis that you aren’t sure of the answer, you should refer them to a well trusted dietitian or specialist. It is important, though, to consider daily living factors that may increase the likelihood of developing osteoporosis such as activity level, whether or not they smoke and how much, alcohol consumption, etc. It is best that if you do think that your client may be at risk of osteoporosis, you should have them perform low weight bearing exercises along with resistance exercises.  This is key to their comfort while performing.

Osteoporosis is such a large and growing issue due to it’s invisibility to our immediate health and eye. If it develops far enough, it will cause multiple, very easily occurring fractures all throughout the bones and may eventually lead to a complete break. This could all be avoided my having responsible health professionals.

The Role Of Customer Service In The Fitness Indestry

The number one priority in getting a customer to come back again is customer service. This includes how the customer is helped, how often they are helped, and the attitude of the representative.  The health and fitness industry heavily relies on customer service to please their customers and get them to return.

In the case of a customer receiving poor customer service, they are likely to tell 10 other people about the experience. This may have an unknown effect on future business and also gives that company a bad rep. This customer is less than likely to return to this company for their needs.

In the case of a customer receiving excellent customer service, they are likely to tell about 5 other people about their experience. This could help bring in new customers that are told about the excellent care and also keep that same customer coming back for more.

There is also a form of too much customer service. This can happen when a fitness industry employee tries just a little too hard to appease the client. While this may come from a good place, it can be rather annoying to people and they’d rather be left to themselves.

In conclusion, customer service is a very important factor for all businesses in the fitness industry because of the heavy reliance on it to bring customers back. However customer service can be perfect, poor, underwhelming, or sometimes overwhelming. This is why it is important to be knowledgeable of how to properly serve a customer and let them leave with a smile on their face.

My Role in Hypertension Awareness and Education

Over the past couple of weeks in exercise science, we have learned about blood pressure and conditions of blood pressure such as hypertension and hypotension. Our main focus were the symptoms and causes of hypertension. Hypertension is a condition in which the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your veins is greater than that of a perfectly healthy person.

I think it is important that we keep people aware of the dangers of hypertension, how common it is, and how deadly it can be. Hypertension is the murderer with the most victims in the United States.

In closing, it is important to be well educated on your blood pressure and the symptoms of hypertension. It is also important to share that knowledge with your peers so they know the risks involved with something as simple as high blood pressure.

My 1st Semester at FCC

Choosing to apply for Exercise Science at Fairfield Career Center was overall a really smart choice for me. I was hating school more and more every day that I was forced to go to Teays Valley. Not because of the school, but because it was just that, school. The difference now is that i chose to go to this school and I don’t spend the entire day in academic classes that I’ll never use in life.

Lab is by far the best part of the day if you don’t count basketball everyday at lunch. I love when I get to exercise as part of the class. I used to leave gym class all the time to work out, but now I’m surrounded by people who share the love for exercise. Plus, I feel like ya’ll are my second family.

In conclusion, I would say my 1st semester at FCC has been a good one.

How Was Multi-Lab Zumba?

Zumba is a really fun activity when everybody embraces it and do not care about how they look doing it. Unfortunately, There were almost half the people that came that chose not to participate because they didn’t want to embarrass themselves. This becomes contagious as more and more people decided to step out.

On the other hand, as we kept going some people decided to join. It was great to see them come around to the idea of dance exercise. I personally convinced one of my friends to join in and he had a lot of fun doing it.

Overall, I would not want to do another class with multiple labs in it. I prefer it just be our class or people who actually want to be there. It was fun, but it’s better when everyone involved participates

What Makes A Person Successful?

To me, success isn’t measured by simple things that others over value like money. Success should not be measured by how much income you have each year, how many houses you own, or especially, not by how many likes, favorites, or subscribers get on social media. I no longer use social media because people have become to concerned about those kind of things.

In my opinion, the only person who can measure one’s success is that person them-self. I measure my own success by the level of satisfaction I have with my life. Being in high school, I do not consider myself successful. I will consider myself successful when I live on my own and have a good, reliable job or career. I do not care if I’m rich or not, it is easy for me to be happy with the truly important things in life and not a piece of paper.

In conclusion, you are the only person who can say if you’re successful or not.
